Accuracy beats speed. A wrong case costs more than a late truck.
Steps
Enter the sales order the same day it is received.
Check stock. If short, mark the line and call the buyer.
Pick by route, in the order of the truck.
Count the pallet, attach the pick sheet and load.
Mark the order Shipped, and Delivered when the signed copy returns.
Short shipments
Never ship a partial order without telling the buyer. Offer a substitute and note it on the order.
The cycle is simple: sell, count, reorder. Reorder points make it automatic.
Steps
Count stock every Friday.
Look at Reorder? on the Products list.
Order enough to cover lead time plus one week of sales.
Receive against the purchase order and update On hand.
Price breaks
Order a full pallet when a supplier gives a break and the shelf life allows it.
Cash is slower than sales. Chase early, politely, with a date.
Steps
Send the invoice with the delivery.
Call accounts at 30 days past due.
Pause new orders at 60 days past due.
Terms
Net 30 is standard. New accounts start on prepay until they have paid three invoices on time.
