Walk-ins are the lifeblood. Keep the queue honest and the wait short.
Steps
Greet and write the name on the Cuts board with a rough wait time.
Keep a barber for walk-ins at the busiest hours.
Text people when they are next if they step out.
Busy hours
Fridays after 3 and Saturdays before noon. Stop taking new walk-ins when the wait exceeds 90 minutes and offer an appointment.
Know what each barber owes and earns before the week ends.

Rules on chair rental differ by state. Confirm which arrangements your state allows.
Cleanliness is the first thing clients notice.
After each client
Clean and disinfect clippers and combs.
Replace the neck strip and wipe the cape.
Sweep around the chair.
End of day
Soak tools, empty trash, mop and take out laundry.
