How to read the numbers
A project that skips a phase pays for it later, usually in revisions. These are the exit tests we use.
Moving a project forward
Open the project row and check Page progress and Open revisions.
If the exit test is met, change the phase and note what was agreed.
Create the next phase's first page or task so work starts the same day.
Slipping projects
A project more than a week behind needs a new launch date told to the client that day, not at the next call.
Never absorb the delay silently; log it in the project page with the cause.
One page of clear answers saves a month of back and forth. Collect these before you quote.
Questions to ask
What should a visitor do on the site, and how will you know it worked?
Who are the three kinds of people you most want to reach?
Which sites do you admire, and which do you dislike? Why?
Who writes and approves copy? When can they deliver it?
What must the site connect to: bookings, payments, email lists, calendars?
Turning answers into a brief
Write the goal as a sentence with a number in it.
List pages as a sitemap and count them; each becomes a row in Pages.
Note content risks: missing photos, outdated menus, legal text.
Agree the revision allowance: how many rounds per phase and how extra work is priced.
Red flags
Several people with veto and no single owner.
Copy promised after design starts.
A launch date set by an event that cannot move.
The rule
Each phase includes two rounds of consolidated feedback. A round is one list from one person who speaks for the client.
Logging a request
Add a row to Revisions with the page, what changed and who asked.
Estimate the hours before doing the work.
Untick Inside agreed scope if it adds something new.
Answering the client
In scope: reply with the date it will be done.
Out of scope: offer two options, a quote for extra hours or a swap for something planned.
Never start out-of-scope work on a verbal yes.
Checking the damage
Open a project and read Revision hours against the fixed fee. When revisions exceed ten percent of the fee, raise it with the client before the next phase.
Launch is a checklist, not a feeling. Print it, tick it, and keep one person in charge.

The switch
Lower the domain record's cache time a day earlier.
Point the domain at the new host and watch it propagate.
Check the secure certificate, the home page and one form.
The first week
Look at errors and broken links daily.
Hold the handover call: how to edit, who to call, what the care plan covers.
Move the project to Launched and ask for a short testimonial.
