Each phase ends with a client approval. Do not skip the gate.
Phases
Discovery: measurements, questionnaire, budget.
Concept: boards and a first floor plan.
Design development: specific pieces and finishes.
Procurement: orders, deposits, tracking.
Installation: delivery, placement and styling.
At each gate
Add an Approval, send the presentation, and record the decision before moving the project on.
Specify
Add each piece with Add item and enter trade and client prices.
Confirm lead time with the vendor.
Order
Collect the client deposit before ordering.
Mark the piece Ordered and set Expected delivery.
Receive
Inspect and photograph on arrival.
Mark Received and schedule installation.
Items past their delivery date appear under Overdue.
Fee schedule
Retainer at agreement.
Concept and design development fees at each approval.
Procurement deposit before the first order.
Final installation fee at the walk-through.
Routine
Create invoices from the project with Add fee invoice.
Mark Sent, then Paid.
Follow up the day after the due date.
