How to read the numbers
A recital is a student's proudest hour. Plan it backward from the date so no one is rushed.
Eight weeks out
Book the hall and a piano tuner
Pick the date and send a save-the-date to families
Ask teachers to choose the pieces
Four weeks out
Collect program names and piece titles
Assign accompanists and rehearsal times
Send the arrival and dress instructions
The week of
Print programs
Run a short rehearsal in the hall
Plan applause and flowers
Thank every teacher and volunteer afterwards
Clear policies make awkward conversations short. Share this with every new family.
Tuition
Tuition is billed monthly and due on the first.
Missed lessons are not credited unless the teacher cancels.
Two overdue months pause lessons until the balance is cleared.
Rentals
Good lessons are repeatable. The same rhythm each week helps students practice at home.
Each lesson
Check the last homework and listen to the pieces.
Teach one new idea and have the student play it back.
Write the homework down before the student leaves.
Mark the lesson done or missed.
Each term
Write a short progress note for each family.
Suggest a performance goal.
Report equipment problems to the front desk.
